The SECO 02578590 is a double end neutral indexable cutoff blade engineered for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to ISO standards, this blade measures 0.984 inches in height, 0.134 inches in width, and 5.91 inches in overall length. It uses a self-grip insert holding method, accepting inserts with a minimum width of 0.161 inches and an insert seat size of 4. The neutral cutting direction and double end design extend tool life by allowing the blade to be flipped when one end wears, reducing per-cut tooling cost. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production turning environments rely on this blade for repeatable, close-tolerance cutoff work.
This blade is suited for parting operations on workpieces up to 4.80 inches in diameter. It is compatible with 150.10-25 series tool blocks and toolholders, making it a direct fit for shops already running the SECO 150.10 system. Both left-hand and right-hand cutting configurations are supported, giving setup flexibility across different turret and gang-tool arrangements. It is appropriate for use in both high-volume production shops and job-shop environments where consistent cutoff geometry is required.
Compatible with 150.10-4.. series inserts and 150.10-...-25 series tool blocks and toolholders. Cross-reference manufacturer part number 150.10A-25-4 for procurement and ordering purposes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down, spindle locked, and turret indexing disabled before blade seating or insert changes. Confirm tool block style compatibility before mounting and verify that the blade is fully seated in the holder before resuming cuts. Follow the machine manufacturer's tooling torque and clamping procedures for the specific tool block in use. Refer to applicable shop safety standards and machine operation manuals for cutoff tooling setup requirements.
