The SECO 02578584 is a double end, neutral cutting direction indexable cutoff blade designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC turning centers and manual lathes. The blade measures 0.843 inches high by 0.173 inches wide with a 4.72-inch overall length and accepts inserts at a 0.2-inch width. It uses a self-grip insert holding method, which eliminates the need for a clamping screw and allows fast, secure insert changes at the machine. This blade is part of the SECO Series 150.10A family and is built to ISO standards. This cutoff blade is intended for parting operations on workpieces up to 4.0 inches in diameter. It is compatible with Series 150.10 tool blocks, specifically the 150.10-20 style, and seats into tool blocks used on gang-style and turret-style turning setups. The blade supports both left-hand and right-hand cutting orientations, making it adaptable to a range of turret and toolholder configurations. Applications include production parting, bar work, and grooving in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent insert indexing and blade rigidity are required.
Compatible with Series 150.10 tool blocks in the 150.10-...-20 style configuration. Accepts Series 150.10-5.. inserts with a 0.2-inch insert width. The corresponding MSC and manufacturer cross-reference number is 150.10A-20-5.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before seating the blade into the tool block. Verify that the insert seat is clean and free of chips before indexing or installing a new insert. Confirm tool block clamping torque and overhang settings follow the machine tool builder and toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Do not exceed the stated maximum workpiece diameter of 4.0 inches, as overloading the blade can cause insert fracture or blade deflection.
