The SECO 02575423 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert engineered for high-performance grooving and turning operations. Built to the LCMF160605 insert standard, it carries a CP200 manufacturer grade designation and features a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating over a micrograin carbide substrate. The insert delivers a maximum cutting width of 0.25 inches, a cutting height of 0.177 inches, and a corner radius of 0.02 inches. Designed as a double-end insert with neutral hand orientation, it belongs to SECOs MDT (Multi-Directional Turning) series and is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in precision turning applications.
This insert is intended for use in multi-directional turning, grooving, and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Its primary workpiece material classifications are M (superalloy) and S (titanium), making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy component machining where superalloys and titanium alloys are common workpiece materials. The FT chipbreaker geometry and 7-degree relief angle support consistent chip control and edge stability during interrupted or continuous cuts. Designed for use in SECO MDT-series toolholders accepting LCMF160605 style inserts with style designation LCMF160605-A250-FT. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the toolholder manufacturers specified clamping hardware to secure the insert — do not overtighten or use improvised fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent premature edge failure.
