The SECO 02569177 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with Crownloc modular drilling systems. It features a solid carbide construction with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering heat and wear resistance in demanding metal-cutting applications. The tip measures 0.8071 inches (20.00 mm) in cutting diameter with a 140-degree included point angle and a helical flute design. With a functional length of 0.4511 inches and a height of 0.5984 inches, this insert-style tip is held in place by a clamp mechanism. It is sized and configured for production drilling in steel and cast iron workpieces where consistent, repeatable performance is required.
This drill tip is suited for CNC machining centers and modular drill bodies used in both job shop and production environments. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. The Crownloc series platform it belongs to is common in shops running high-volume drilling operations where rapid tip replacement minimizes downtime. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling ferrous metal components are the primary end users for this insert.
Designed for use with Crownloc modular drill bodies accepting the SD100-20.50-K insert geometry. Compatible primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO codes P and K).
This tip is installed and replaced by machinists or toolroom technicians on compatible Crownloc drill bodies. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tip. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw per the drill body manufacturer's tool assembly instructions. Inspect the seating pocket and clamp for wear or debris before installing a new tip to ensure proper contact and runout.
