The SECO 02566511 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying manufacturer part number APMX160408TR-M14 in the MP2500 grade. It features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle and a right-hand cutting orientation. The CVD-applied Duratomic coating combines TiCN and Al2O3 layers to extend wear resistance during aggressive milling operations. With a positive rake angle of 24 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style, this insert is engineered for efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-mounted holding method ensures rigid seating in compatible cutter bodies. This insert is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC milling machines.
This insert is suited for milling steel as its primary workpiece material, with rated application to stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium as secondary materials. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports a broad range of feed rates and depths, making this insert applicable in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-16 and R220.69-16, as stated by the manufacturer. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the cutter body is fully removed from the spindle and the machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure full, flat contact.
