The SECO 02566329 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180608TR-D16 in manufacturer grade MK1500. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert is CVD-coated with TiCN and Al2O3 under SECO Duratomic coating classification, providing wear resistance suited to cast iron milling applications. It features a positive rake angle of 11 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and delivers two usable cutting edges per insert. The inscribed circle measures 0.4409 inches and insert thickness is 0.2520 inches. Designed for use with compatible cutter bodies, this insert is installed and changed out by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended primarily for milling cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material code K. The D16 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation in ferrous materials. Compatible cutter series include the R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 bodies. The XOMX-18 series sizing and screw-held mounting make this insert a direct fit for tooling programs built around 18 mm insert pocket specifications. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and similar operations on cast iron components in industrial manufacturing settings.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. Fits toolholders and cutter bodies designed for the XOMX-18 insert series with screw-held pocket configuration.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always index or replace inserts with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when torquing the clamping screw — do not over-tighten, as this can crack carbide inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or damage before seating a new insert.
