The SECO 02566301 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation SONX09T308TR-M10 and manufactured to grade MK1500. This single-sided, square-shaped insert features a micrograin carbide substrate with a CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN and Al2O3 layers for wear resistance and thermal stability. It delivers a 15-degree relief angle, a positive 19-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With four usable cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it is designed for productive face and shoulder milling operations where consistent edge life and predictable chip control are required.
This insert is engineered primarily for milling cast iron workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material group K. It is suited for both light and moderate depth-of-cut applications in production environments including automotive, heavy equipment, and general machining shops. The M10 chip breaker geometry supports stable cutting performance across a range of feeds. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working with compatible indexable milling cutters.
Compatible with the R220.99-09 cutter series. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under designation SONX09T308TR-M10 with insert size code 09T308.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and screw driver bit specified for the cutter body to seat the insert clamp screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
