The SECO 02566059 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation SEAN1303AFTN-M15 and manufactured to SECO's MK1500 grade. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a neutral rake and a T-Land cutting edge style designed for milling operations in cast iron and similar K-class workpiece materials. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating consisting of TiCN and Al2O3, which provides thermal and wear resistance during interrupted and continuous cuts. With four usable cutting edges and a 20-degree relief angle, it delivers consistent performance across roughing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install this insert in compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for milling cast iron in both production and job-shop environments. Its primary workpiece material classification is K, covering gray cast iron, ductile iron, and hardened cast iron grades. The M15 chip breaker geometry handles the chip-breaking demands common in cast iron face milling and shoulder milling applications. The insert is part of the SEAN-13 series and is compatible with SECO cutter series R220.13-12. It is suited for operations requiring stable, predictable tool life where thermal coating performance is critical. Minimum order quantity is 10 units; each package contains 1 insert.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R220.13-12. Insert size code is 1303, series SEAN-13. Verify cutter pocket geometry and insert pocket dimensions against your toolholder documentation before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using appropriate torx or hex keys as specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping wedge for chips or debris that could prevent full seating. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specified for the cutter body and insert combination.
