The SECO 02566055 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation SCET120612T-M14 and manufacturer grade MK1500. It features a square insert shape with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a positive rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is CVD-coated with a TiCN plus Al2O3 Duratomic coating for wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. Primary workpiece material is cast iron. The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches and thickness is 0.2500 inches. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production milling operations.
This insert is designed for milling cast iron workpieces in production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.59-12 and R220.59-12. The neutral hand orientation and screw-held mounting method make it suitable for a range of face and shoulder milling applications where consistent edge performance and predictable tool life are required. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate-to-aggressive feed rates typical of cast iron machining.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.59-12 and R220.59-12. Insert is screw-held and designed for use in SCET-12 series cutter bodies. Optimized for cast iron (ISO material code K) workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the spindle locked out and the machine in a de-energized, zero-energy state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key torque driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when securing the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw threads for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Index or replace the insert when visible wear, chipping, or surface finish degradation is observed.
