The SECO 02566037 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer part number OFEX05T305TN-M08 in the MK1500 grade. It is an octagon-shaped, single-sided insert designed for face and shoulder milling operations on cast iron workpieces. The insert measures 0.5 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1484 inches thick, with a TiCN plus Al2O3 CVD coating classified under the Duratomic coating system. With 8 cutting edges and a neutral rake angle, it delivers consistent chip control through the M08 chip breaker geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators install this insert in compatible SECO milling cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for milling cast iron in both production and maintenance machining environments. The OFEX-05 series geometry, T-Land cutting edge style, and 26-degree relief angle make it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge security and surface quality are priorities. The screw-holding method provides positive clamping in the tool body. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 units. Typical applications include face milling gray and ductile cast iron components in automotive, industrial equipment, and general metalworking settings.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.43-05 and R220.43-05. Conforms to ANSI and ISO code OFEX05T305TN-M08.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to achieve proper screw torque without stripping the insert pocket. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
