The SECO 02566035 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying manufacturer part number OFER070405TN-M16 and grade MK1500. This octagon-shaped, single-sided insert features a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 Duratomic coating designed for high wear resistance and thermal stability during milling operations. It carries a neutral rake angle, a T-Land cutting edge style, and eight usable cutting edges, making it a productive choice for face milling and shoulder milling applications. The insert measures 0.7063 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1795 inches thick, with a corner radius of 0.0197 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2795 inches. Installation and replacement are performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is engineered primarily for milling cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material grade code K. It is suited for use in production shops running cast iron components such as engine blocks, pump housings, manifolds, and brake components. The OFER070405TN-M16 is compatible with the R220.43-07 cutter series and fits the OFER-07 insert series platform. The M16 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow and reduces cutting forces at moderate to aggressive feed rates typical in cast iron face milling. Neutral hand orientation allows flexible positioning in compatible cutter bodies.
Compatible with the R220.43-07 cutter series. Designed for use in OFER-07 series cutter bodies accepting inserts with an inscribed circle range of 0.7000 to 1.0000 inches and a thickness range of 0.1750 to 0.1850 inches.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to release the wedge clamp before removing the worn insert. Seat the new insert fully into the pocket and confirm the clamping mechanism is torqued per the cutter body manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or damage during each insert change.
