The SECO 02566016 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation LNKT060508PPTN-M06, grade MK1500, designed for indexable milling operations targeting cast iron workpieces. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN and Al2O3 for thermal and wear resistance at the cutting edge. It measures 0.3937 inches in length, 0.2362 inches in width, and 0.1969 inches in thickness, with a 0.0315-inch corner radius. The double-sided, neutral-hand design provides four usable cutting edges per insert, extending tool life between change-outs. This insert is intended for milling applications in cast iron (material code K), including gray iron, ductile iron, and compacted graphite iron in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Indexing and replacement of milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully stopped, spindle locked, and all energy sources isolated per lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seat-screw torque — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert seat pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, and verify the insert is fully seated and flush before resuming cuts. Handle carbide inserts carefully — edges are brittle and can chip if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces.
