The SECO 02565564 is a left-hand DTGN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built on the Clamp Lock series, it uses a top-clamp insert holding method to secure TN..33.. family inserts at a negative rake angle of -6 degrees, providing strong edge support when machining a wide range of workpiece materials. The steel shank measures 0.75 inches wide by 0.75 inches tall with an overall length of 4.5 inches. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC toolroom technicians setting up turning applications requiring left-hand cutting direction.
This toolholder is suited for general-purpose turning in both production and job-shop environments. The 90-degree lead angle and negative rake geometry make it appropriate for roughing and semi-finishing passes across universal workpiece material categories including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and superalloys. The 3/8-inch insert inscribed circle and 1.18-inch head length position the cutting edge 1 inch back from the bar centerline, giving clearance in common gang-tool and turret setups.
Accepts TN..33.. series inserts including TNGA, TNMA, TNMG, TNMM, and TNMP with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible insert size code is TN33. Designed as an OEM-style replacement toolholder for left-hand external turning setups requiring a 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lockout the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Seat the shank fully in the toolpost or turret pocket and torque the clamp fastener according to the machine manufacturer specifications. Verify cutting edge height relative to spindle centerline before running the first pass.
