The SECO 02565479 is a left-hand DCKN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for negative rake cutting applications on CNC and manual lathes. Built on a 1 x 1 inch square shank with an overall length of 6 inches, this toolholder uses a clamp-lock holding method to secure CN-series inserts rigidly during interrupted and continuous turning passes. The steel construction provides the rigidity needed for heavy stock removal. Coolant-through capability is not included. This holder is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators working in production and job-shop turning environments.
This toolholder is suited for external turning operations where a left-hand cutting direction is required. The DCKN geometry positions the insert at a negative rake angle, which increases edge strength and makes it well-suited for harder workpiece materials and higher feed rates. The 1.3 inch head length and 1.25 inch back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension allow for precise tool positioning. It accepts CN-type inserts with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle, making insert sourcing straightforward across multiple manufacturers.
Accepts CN.. 43.. series inserts including CNGA, CNGP, CNMA, CNMG, CNMM, and CNMP styles with a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use toolholder for standard 1 x 1 inch OD turning applications requiring left-hand cut direction.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC lathe operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing inserts. Ensure the shank is fully engaged and clamped in the toolpost or turret block to the depth recommended by the machine manufacturer. Follow standard shop safety practices when handling indexable inserts, as cutting edges are sharp.
