The SECO 02562790 is a left-hand internal indexable threading toolholder designed for precision thread cutting and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts size 1.5 inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and is compatible with 16NL insert style. The shank measures 0.65 inches in height and 0.707 inches in width with an overall length of 7 inches. Built from steel, this toolholder features axial concentric coolant entry and through-coolant capability, making it suitable for demanding cutting conditions where heat management is critical. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC turning specialists.
This toolholder is suited for internal threading and turning applications in both production and job-shop environments. The CN toolholder style and clamp-style insert holding method provide secure insert retention during threading passes. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.95 inches, it is appropriate for mid-range bore work on steel, alloy, and similar materials. The Snap Tap series designation and multi-use capability make it adaptable across a range of threading operations. The 30 mm head length and 0.52-inch center-to-cutting-edge dimension support precise tool positioning in tight bore setups.
Compatible with size 1.5 inserts using the 16NL insert style. Part of the SECO Snap Tap series. Designed as a direct-fit toolholder for CNC lathes and turning centers requiring left-hand internal threading capability with a CN toolholder style.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all axis motion is locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Verify insert seating and clamp torque per shop standards before initiating any cutting pass. Confirm bore clearance against the 0.95-inch minimum bore diameter before tool engagement to avoid interference.
