The SECO 02562786 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for internal threading and turning operations on CNC lathes and boring bars. Built from steel, this right-hand holder accepts two 16NR-compatible inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method. The shank measures 1.15 inches in height and 1.209 inches in diameter, with an overall length of 10 inches. A minimum bore diameter of 1.4 inches defines the smallest hole this tool can reach. Coolant-through capability is supported via axial concentric entry, keeping the cutting zone clear during threading passes. This holder is part of the SECO Snap Tap series and is suited for production turning environments where consistent thread quality and fast insert indexing are priorities.
This toolholder is used in internal threading and turning applications on metal-cutting lathes, machining centers, and horizontal boring machines. It is a fit for shops running high-volume threading operations in materials that benefit from coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge. The right-hand configuration and CN toolholder style are standard in many production turning setups. The 3/8-inch insert inscribed circle and 16NR insert compatibility make it appropriate for threading operations requiring precision insert positioning. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel.
Designed for use with 16NR threading inserts sized at 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible insert size code is 2. Verify machine spindle bore and turret pocket dimensions against the 1.15 x 1.209 inch shank before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling setup procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder. Ensure the turret pocket or boring bar bore is clean and within tolerance before seating the shank. Follow insert manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamp screw when indexing or replacing inserts.
