The SECO 02554401 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation SNHQ120404TL4-M07. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert in the SNHQ-12 series designed for use in milling cutters compatible with the 335.19-12 cutter series. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate in manufacturer grade F40M. It uses a T-Land cutting edge style with a negative rake angle of 20 degrees, delivers four cutting edges, and is configured for left-hand cutting. The M07 chip breaker geometry governs chip control across a range of metalcutting applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling tool changes and insert indexing are the typical installers.
This insert is intended for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary material codes are P, K, and S per ISO workpiece material classification, with secondary coverage for K and N materials. It suits both roughing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip evacuation and edge toughness are required. The insert is held in the cutter body by screw clamping and is compatible with the 335.19-12 cutter series as specified by the manufacturer.
Compatible with the 335.19-12 cutter series as specified by the manufacturer. Insert is identified by ANSI and ISO code SNHQ120404TL4-M07 and belongs to the SNHQ-12 series.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and all axes at rest. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the clamping screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specified seating procedure; do not over-drive the screw. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping cutting edges prior to use.
