The SECO 02551635 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert in the MDT series, designed for precision turning and grooving operations on difficult-to-machine materials. Built to style LCMR1604M0-0400-MP with a neutral hand orientation, it features a micrograin carbide substrate in the CP200 grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating for wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert delivers a maximum cutting width of 0.157 inches and a cutting height of 0.177 inches, with a full corner radius of 0.079 inches and an insert length of 0.679 inches. The MP chipbreaker geometry supports stable chip control in interrupted and continuous cuts. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this insert fits standard MDT-series toolholders.
The 02551635 is suited for turning, profiling, and grooving applications where primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium alloys, classified under material codes M and S. Its neutral hand design allows use in both left- and right-hand tool setups, and the single-end configuration ensures consistent edge geometry for each insert. The 7-degree relief angle supports clearance in tight-tolerance finishing and semi-finishing passes. This insert is packaged individually and sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in MDT-series multi-directional turning and grooving toolholder systems accepting LCMR1604M0 style inserts. Primary target workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium alloys (ISO material groups M and S).
This insert is installed by qualified machinists on CNC or manual turning centers. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the insert screw to avoid seat damage — refer to the toolholder manufacturer specification for clamping torque. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
