The SECO 02508068 is an external, right-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for threading and turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The toolholder features a 0.625 x 0.625 inch square shank with a 4.16 inch shank length, providing a rigid setup for consistent thread form accuracy. It accepts 16ER inserts with a 0.3752 inch inscribed circle and uses a clamp-style insert holding method for secure, repeatable indexing. This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators working on external threading applications in production and job shop environments.
The 02508068 is suited for external threading and turning on workpieces where a right-hand toolholder is required. The CE-style toolholder geometry positions the insert for standard right-hand cutting direction on an engine lathe or CNC turning center. The 0.625 inch square shank fits standard tool blocks and quick-change toolpost systems commonly found in light to medium-duty turning setups. No coolant-through feature is present, so this toolholder is intended for applications where flood or mist coolant is delivered externally or dry cutting conditions are acceptable.
Compatible with 16ER indexable threading inserts with a 1.5 insert size code and 0.3752 inch inscribed circle. Designed for use in standard square-shank toolpost and tool block systems accepting 0.625 inch shank toolholders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC lathe operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Secure the shank fully in the toolpost or block to the manufacturer-specified clamping method to prevent chatter and maintain thread accuracy. Use appropriate insert grade and geometry for the workpiece material and thread form being cut.
