The SECO 02505941 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation SPMX1504AP-75 in manufacturer grade F40M. It is a square, single-sided insert with a neutral rake angle, T-Land cutting edge style, and a 90-degree included angle. The insert measures 0.625 inches in length and width, with a thickness of 0.187 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.625 inches. A PVD-applied TiAlN plus TiN dual-layer coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed milling operations. The chip breaker designation is 75. With four cutting edges and a screw-in holding method, this insert is suited for milling applications across a range of workpiece materials in production machining environments.
This insert is designed for use in milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It falls within the SPMX-15 series and carries primary workpiece material codes P, K, and S, with secondary codes K and N. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on CNC machining centers where consistent edge life and multi-material capability are required. The fine-grain carbide substrate supports both interrupted and continuous cutting scenarios. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with SPMX-15 series milling toolholders accepting SPMX1504AP-75 inserts. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and screw torque specifications against the toolholder manufacturer documentation before indexing.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not over-torque. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure full contact and prevent premature edge failure.
