The SECO 02505932 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SPMX0703AP-75 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, square-shape insert is built for indexable milling applications demanding consistent performance across a range of workpiece materials. It features a fine-grain carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating. The insert geometry is neutral rake with a T-Land cutting edge style and an 11-degree relief angle. With 4 cutting edges and a chip breaker designation of 75, it is suited for medium to light milling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous machining environments. Installation is via screw clamping.
This insert targets production and job-shop machinists running indexable face mills, shoulder mills, and copy mills in the SECO R218.19-3, R417.19-3, and R218.19 cutter series. Primary workpiece materials are steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. Secondary applications include cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The F40M grade and PVD TiAlN-TiN coating combination is positioned for steel and stainless steel finishing to medium roughing, as well as superalloy and titanium cuts where edge stability and heat resistance are priorities.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R218.19-3, R417.19-3, and R218.19. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), K (cast iron), and S (superalloys and titanium), with secondary suitability for K (cast iron) and N (non-ferrous metals) per ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician during cutter body setup or insert indexing. Ensure the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or screw damage. Always index or replace inserts with the spindle powered down and the machine in a locked-out state per shop lockout-tagout procedures.
