The SECO 02505878 is a solid carbide milling insert in the CCMX series, designed for indexable milling applications across a range of metalworking operations. It carries the ANSI/ISO designation CCMX08T308-E07 and is manufactured to the T25M grade with an F40M manufacturer grade classification. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine grain solid carbide substrate. It measures 0.3161 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.1732 inches thick, with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a honed cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The E07 chip breaker geometry and 7-degree relief angle support stable chip control during milling passes.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It is compatible with the R215.59-08 cutter series and fits holders designed around the CCMX-08 insert series. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and copy milling in both production shop and job shop environments. The right-hand orientation and screw-in holding method suit standard indexable milling toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in general machining, aerospace, and die-mold environments will encounter this insert in roughing to semi-finishing operations on the listed workpiece materials.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's recommended seating procedure when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
