The SECO 02485256 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation XOMX180608TR-MD15 in manufacturer grade F40M. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-style insert with a positive rake angle of 15.9 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert features a PVD-applied dual coating of TiAlN and TiN over a fine-grain carbide substrate, providing thermal resistance and wear protection across a wide range of workpiece materials. With 2 cutting edges and a 90-degree included angle, it is designed for use in screw-retained milling toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC toolroom technicians are the primary installers.

This insert is suited for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The MD15 chip breaker geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in these material groups. It is appropriate for use in production environments running vertical or horizontal machining centers where insert-style face or shoulder mills are the preferred tooling approach. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not over-torque, as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
