The SECO 02469129 is a carbide replaceable tip drill insert designed for the SD100 series drill body system. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating applied via a PVD process, delivering heat and wear resistance in ferrous cutting applications. The insert features a 140-degree included angle geometry suited for initiating cuts and maintaining hole accuracy. At 15.2mm in height, the tip mounts into compatible SD100 series holders and delivers through-coolant capability, directing fluid directly to the cutting edge for chip evacuation and thermal control. This part is typically sourced and installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production or job-shop environments.
This replaceable tip drill insert is intended for steel cutting applications, corresponding to ISO material group P. The SD100 series system is used in CNC machining centers and drill presses where indexable or replaceable tip tooling is preferred over solid drill bodies. The through-coolant feature makes this insert well suited for deeper hole operations where chip packing and heat buildup are concerns. The P insert geometry designation indicates a specific cutting edge form within the SD100 platform.
Designed for use with SECO SD100 series replaceable tip drill bodies. Compatible with steel and ISO P-group primary workpiece materials as indicated by the P material code designation.
Installation of replaceable tip drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the drill body manufacturer's torque and seating procedures. Ensure the drill body is fully removed from the spindle and secured before tip exchange. Inspect the tip pocket and coolant ports for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Confirm through-coolant connections are clear and properly aligned before returning the tool to service.
