The SECO 02469100 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the SD100 series, designed for high-performance hole-making in steel workpieces. It features a solid carbide tip with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating applied via a PVD process, delivering improved wear resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The drill has a 20.64 mm diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, and a tip height of 15.20 mm (0.5984 inches). Through-coolant capability allows directed coolant delivery to the cutting edge, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control during deep-hole operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling professionals install and use this drill in machining centers and drill presses.
The 02469100 is intended for use in steel cutting applications, consistent with ISO material group P workpiece materials. The SD100 series replaceable tip format reduces tooling cost by allowing tip replacement without discarding the drill body shank. This makes it a practical choice for production environments where frequent tip changes are required due to high cycle volumes or aggressive cutting parameters. The through-coolant design is particularly suited to deeper hole depths where chip packing and heat buildup are concerns.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip for use with compatible SD100 series drill body shanks accepting a 20.64 mm tip diameter. Specific shank compatibility should be confirmed against the SD100 series body selection guide.
Installation of replaceable carbide drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists following the tool manufacturer's torque and seating procedures for the SD100 tip interface. The drill body and machine spindle must be fully stopped and de-energized before tip removal or installation. Inspect the tip seat on the body for chips or debris prior to seating the new tip, as contamination can cause runout or tip breakage. Confirm coolant port alignment when reassembling to maintain through-coolant flow.
