The SECO 02462687 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precise edge preparation and multi-operation cutting in hard materials. Built on the JHP170 series platform, it features a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 4-flute right-hand helical configuration with a 50-degree helix angle, and a 0.10 mm chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle. The MEGA-64 PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability when working in hard-material applications. This tool is single-end, center-cutting, and ships ready for immediate use in CNC machining environments. It is typically installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working in precision component manufacturing.
This end mill suits applications involving shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The extended-reach design, with an 8.00 mm reach length and a 3.70 mm neck diameter, allows access to features that standard-length tools cannot reach. It is intended for use in hard workpiece materials (Material Code H) and is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. The short length-of-cut geometry combined with the high-helix flute style supports chip evacuation and surface finish quality in demanding cuts.
Designed as an OEM-specified replacement or direct application tool within the SECO JHP170 series. Compatible with standard CNC machining centers accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank (shank diameter tolerance h5). Intended for hard workpiece materials as classified under Material Code H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Confirm that the tool holder collet or chuck is sized for a 6 mm shank and is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling per standard machine guarding procedures. Verify runout at the spindle using a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as the maximum specified TIR is 0.01 mm.
