The SECO 02453152 is a TP7 Torx Plus drive screwdriver designed for seating and securing indexable inserts in milling toolholders. It provides the correct drive geometry to engage TP7 Torx Plus insert screws without damaging the screw head or insert pocket. Proper insert seating is critical to cutting performance and tool life, and using the correct driver eliminates the risk of cam-out and rounded screw heads. This driver is a standard service tool kept in the toolcrib or on the machine table by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel working with indexable milling systems.
This driver is intended for use during indexable insert changes on milling operations. When an insert reaches the end of a cutting edge, the operator uses this tool to remove the clamping screw, rotate or swap the insert, and re-torque the screw to seat the insert correctly in the pocket. It is suited to production machining environments, job shops, and maintenance toolrooms where SECO or compatible indexable milling toolholders using TP7 Torx Plus hardware are in service.
Designed for use with indexable milling toolholders that use TP7 Torx Plus insert clamping screws. Compatible hardware type is listed as Insert. Consult toolholder documentation to confirm the required Torx Plus size before ordering.
Insert changes should be performed with the machine spindle stopped and the machine placed in an e-stop or locked-out state per facility LOTO procedures. Use only the correct Torx Plus size driver for the screw in use — substituting standard Torx drivers for Torx Plus screws can round the drive recess. Do not apply impact tools to insert clamping screws; hand torque only. Replace the driver if the tip shows visible wear or rounding to avoid screw damage.
