The SECO 02450395 is an indexable copy face mill designed for helical interpolation and ramping operations on CNC machining centers. It accepts four XPKX12 inserts secured by screw-style clamping and delivers a maximum cutting diameter of 2 inches (50.80 mm) with a maximum depth of cut of 0.295 inches. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting extended tool life and chip evacuation in demanding milling applications. Right-hand cutting direction and a maximum spindle speed of 30,000 RPM make this cutter well suited for high-speed milling on a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers of this tooling.
This cutter fits arbor-style mill holders with a 0.750-inch arbor hole diameter and a 0.320-inch keyway width, standard configurations found on horizontal and vertical machining centers. The R220.97-12 cutter style and Series R220 designation position it for copy milling, pocket interpolation, and low-angle ramping at up to 5 degrees. It is appropriate for both job-shop and production environments where complex contoured surfaces or deep-pocket entry paths are required. Overall height is 1.770 inches, and the hub diameter measures 47.00 mm, supporting stable seating in the spindle assembly.
Designed for use with XPKX12 series inserts in the SECO R220 Series R220.97-12 cutter platform, mounted on arbor-style toolholders with a 0.750-inch hole diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, energy-isolated state before mounting or removing the cutter body. Verify insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer's recommendation before initiating a cut. Confirm coolant port alignment with the toolholder when through-coolant is in use.
