The SECO 02448913 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XPKX12T331PDER-E08 in manufacturer grade H25. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake angle of 25 degrees and a honed cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are provided per insert. The E08 chip breaker geometry and micrograin carbide substrate make this insert suited to light-to-moderate milling passes in non-ferrous metals and superalloys including titanium. The bright uncoated finish is delivered as-ground with no additional coating process applied. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in milling operations requiring close dimensional control.
This insert is designed for use in face milling and shoulder milling applications where the primary workpiece materials are non-ferrous metals (material code N) and superalloys or titanium (material code S). The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, which is beneficial when machining aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and titanium grades that are sensitive to heat and work hardening. Compatible cutter series listed by the manufacturer are R217.97-X12 and R220.97-X12. The screw-held mounting method provides repeatable indexing in the cutter body.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for debris and wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
