The SECO 02447508 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a T350M manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied TiCN/Al2O3 multilayer coating, making it suited for a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.078-inch cutting width, a 0.006-inch corner radius, and a neutral lead angle with zero degrees of lead, providing balanced cutting forces during straight cutoff work. It belongs to SECO's Series 150.10 platform and is held in place by a clamp-style insert seat. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as a single-end indexable blade tip.
This insert is intended for cutoff and parting applications in production turning environments, both job-shop and high-volume. The T350M grade with TiCN/Al2O3 CVD coating is classified under material grade C5 and is designated for universal workpiece materials, giving it broad applicability across steel, stainless, and similar OD-turning operations. The chipbreaker designation is 14, which governs chip control geometry for the cutting width. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per purchase, which is standard for indexable insert tooling at this size class.
Designed for use in Series 150.10 cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept size-2 insert seats with a clamp holding method.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be locked out and the turret de-energized before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamp; do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for carbide debris or wear before seating a new insert.
