The SECO 02445843 is a replaceable-tip drill designed for precision holemaking in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built on the SD105 platform, it accepts SD100-style inserts and covers a drill diameter range of 19.00 to 19.99 mm (0.7480 to 0.7870 inches). Maximum drill depth reaches 3.74 inches, achieving a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio suited for deeper bores without sacrificing rigidity. Through-coolant capability channels fluid directly to the cutting zone, extending insert life and evacuating chips efficiently. The 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement and resists rotation under high torque loads. Machinists and tooling technicians install this drill on CNC machining centers and drill presses where repeatable, close-tolerance hole quality is required.
This drill is suited for production holemaking applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where insert replaceability reduces changeover time compared to solid-body drills. The SD105 series body and SD100 insert compatibility make it a fit for shops already running SECO modular tooling systems. The 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio makes it practical for through-holes and blind holes in structural components, flanges, and plate stock commonly encountered in industrial machining operations.
Compatible with SD100-style replaceable inserts. Designed for use with SD105 series toolholders. Shank diameter of 0.750 inches fits standard 3/4-inch Weldon flat toolholder bores on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in the toolholder set-screw pocket and verify torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Confirm through-coolant lines are open and delivering adequate flow before engaging the cut. Inspect and seat the SD100 insert according to SECO tooling guidelines prior to each run to ensure proper tip engagement and runout within acceptable limits.
