The SECO 02444161 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the T350M manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating for enhanced wear resistance and heat control at the cutting edge. The insert features a 0.122-inch cutting width, a 0.008-inch corner radius, and a neutral lead angle, making it suitable for straight, square cutoff work. It belongs to SECO's Series 150.10 and is held in place by a clamp-style toolholder. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert during routine insert indexing or toolholder setup.
This insert is intended for single-end use in cutoff and parting applications across a universal range of workpiece materials, classified under material code OD. The chipbreaker designation is 14, and the insert seat size is 3. The overall insert length is 0.354 inches. With a neutral hand and zero degree lead angle, it produces a perpendicular cut face without side thrust bias, which is preferred in many standard OD parting setups on production turning equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for Series 150.10 clamp-style cutoff and parting toolholders accepting insert seat size 3. Confirm toolholder seat size and series designation before installation.
This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely — do not overtighten the clamp screw. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and dimensional accuracy.
