The SECO 02430544 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Series 150.10 line, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on a range of workpiece materials. It carries the CP600 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN finish that improves wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert has a 3.10mm (0.1220 inch) cutting width, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 0.0080 inch corner radius. It is a single-end design held in place by a clamp-style insert seat. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians typically specify this insert for CNC lathes and turning centers running parting and cutoff cycles.
This insert is suited for parting and cutoff applications across a universal range of workpiece materials, covering the OD material grade classification. The chipbreaker designation 14 is optimized for controlled chip formation in parting operations where chip evacuation is critical to tool life and surface finish. The C5 material grade rating makes it appropriate for general-purpose turning and cutoff work. It is a right-hand insert compatible with clamp-style toolholders designed for Series 150.10 inserts. Typical use is on CNC or manual lathes performing cutoff, grooving, and parting passes at moderate to high cutting speeds.
Designed as a Series 150.10 replacement insert for clamp-style cutoff and parting toolholders that accept an insert seat size of 3 with a 3.10mm cutting width slot.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing any insert. Ensure the insert pocket and clamp are clean and free of chips before seating the insert, as debris under the insert can cause premature edge failure or incorrect geometry. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications and do not mix insert grades or geometries not specified for the toolholder series.
