The SECO 02430419 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCMT style, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. It carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the manufacturer grade CP500, which supports performance in stainless steel, steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The insert features a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 1/4 inch inscribed circle, a 3/32 inch thickness, and a 1/128 inch corner radius. The F1 chip breaker geometry and sharp cutting edge style make this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and clean chip control are required.
This insert is built for use across multiple turning operations including back turning, boring, facing, and standard turning. It is appropriate for both light and moderate cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4134 inches. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both left- and right-hand tooling setups. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material group M), with secondary suitability for steel (P), cast iron (K), and super-alloys and titanium (S). It fits into standard TCMT-style insert pockets and is held in place by a screw-clamp method. The insert meets both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation TCMT110202-F1.
Designed for use in TCMT-style insert pockets accepting a 1/4 inch inscribed circle triangular insert with screw-clamp holding. Suitable for ISO material groups M (stainless steel), P (steel), K (cast iron), and S (super-alloys and titanium) at material grades M10, M20, and M30.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the pocket before tightening the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure accurate positioning and prevent premature edge failure.
