The SECO 02430360 is a DCGT-style turning insert engineered for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. It carries a CP500 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer TiAlN and TiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering elevated heat and wear resistance at the cutting edge. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and presents a sharp cutting edge geometry with a positive rake angle and a 0.0039 inch corner radius. With a 55-degree diamond shape and neutral hand orientation, it suits a broad range of lathe operations including turning, facing, boring, and back turning. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is sized at a 3/8 inch inscribed circle with an insert length of 0.9134 inches and a thickness of 0.1563 inches. It is designed primarily for stainless steel workpieces classified under ISO material code M, covering grades M10, M20, and M30. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The F1 chip breaker geometry supports light to medium depth-of-cut applications with a maximum depth of cut reaching 0.4528 inches. Screw-style insert holding secures the insert in compatible toolholders.
Designed as a replacement turning insert conforming to ANSI and ISO standards under industry standard number DCGT32.50-F1 and ISO designation DCGT11T301-F1. Compatible with toolholders designed for DCGT-series screw-clamped inserts with a 0.1772 inch hole diameter. Multi-use application includes back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturers specified torque. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating a new insert to maintain proper cutting geometry.
