The SECO 02430339 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DCGT 21.50-F1 series, designed for precision metal-removal operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the CP500 grade designation, which delivers thermal resistance and wear protection at the cutting edge. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a sharp cutting edge with an F1 chip breaker geometry. Corner radius measures 0.0039 inches, making it well suited for light finishing passes where tight tolerances and fine surface finish are required. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also applicable to steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The F1 chip breaker geometry and sharp edge support back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations. Its positive rake angle and neutral hand orientation provide broad setup flexibility across common toolholders that accept DCGT-style inserts. It is manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of DCGT070201-F1 and an industry standard number of DCGT21.50-F1. Material grades M10, M20, and M30 are supported. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw to seat the insert fully in the pocket without over-torquing. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
