The SECO 02430307 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCGT series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. Carrying the CP500 manufacturer grade with a multilayer PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during cutting. The diamond 80-degree insert shape (shape code C) provides a strong cutting geometry with a positive rake angle and sharp cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.2500 inches with an insert thickness of 0.0937 inches, making it suitable for light to moderate material removal in finish and semi-finish operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical end users.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also suitable for steel, cast iron, and super-alloys including titanium (ISO codes P, K, and S). It supports boring, facing, and turning operations with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2520 inches. The F1 chip breaker geometry and 0.0039-inch corner radius support controlled chip formation and clean surface finishes in close-tolerance work. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of toolholders. The CCGT21.50-F1 industry standard number and ISO code CCGT060201-F1 allow direct cross-referencing to compatible tooling systems.
Designed for use in CCGT-series screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, 80-degree diamond insert with a C clearance code and G tolerance code. Compatible toolholder selection should reference the CCGT21.50-F1 industry standard number or ISO designation CCGT060201-F1.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and dimensional accuracy.
