The SECO 02430219 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCMT geometry, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. It features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius for sharp, controlled edge engagement. The grade is CP200, finished with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating for thermal resistance and edge durability. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes positive rake cutting action. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production turning, boring, and facing operations.
The 02430219 is primarily suited for turning stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, making it appropriate for aerospace, medical, and high-alloy industrial machining applications. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. It is screw-held using the TCMT mounting method and supports back turning, boring, facing, and standard OD turning operations. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both directions of cut. Each package contains one insert.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for toolholders accepting TCMT-style screw-on triangular inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 0.1772-inch hole diameter, conforming to ANSI and ISO TCMT standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured in the turret before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver specified by the toolholder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating each new cutting edge.
