The SECO 02429689 is a polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) turning insert in the DNGA432 series, designed for high-hardness machining applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the manufacturer grade CBN200 and features an uncoated, bright finish with a chamfered and honed cutting edge for consistent performance in interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.03125-inch corner radius. With 2 cutting edges per insert and a flat top chip breaker geometry, it delivers controlled cutting action on difficult workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this insert in toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. The DNGA series flat top geometry and neutral hand orientation make it applicable across a range of finishing and semi-finishing operations where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. The CBN200 grade is optimized primarily for cast iron (ISO material group K) and is also rated for super-alloys and hard materials (ISO material groups S and H). Applications are typically found in aerospace, automotive, and industrial component machining environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Verify the toolholder pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures for the specific holding method used.
