The SECO 02426811 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation SEEX1204AFN-M10, manufactured in the SEEX-12 series to the F40M fine-grain carbide grade. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four usable cutting edges, and a sharp cutting-edge style with a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and a 20-degree relief angle. A dual-layer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous milling passes. At 0.1874 inches thick with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, this insert is sized for moderate-depth face and shoulder milling work across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The M10 chip breaker geometry is suited to medium-to-light finishing and semi-finishing cuts in these material groups. It is a neutral-hand, screw-held, single-sided insert appropriate for production-floor use by machinists and tool-crib professionals running compatible SECO cutter bodies. Maximum depth of cut is 0.3425 inches with an effective cutting edge length of 0.5000 inches.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.53-12 and R220.53-12. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; each package contains 1 insert.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-crib technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque procedure for screw-held inserts; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excess clamping force. Inspect the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before inserting to ensure proper seating and runout.
