The SECO 02426793 is a solid carbide milling insert in the SEEX-12 series, sold under the ANSI/ISO designation SEEX1204AFN-E08. This single-sided, square-profile insert carries a micrograin carbide substrate in manufacturer grade H25 with a bright, uncoated finish. It provides four cutting edges with a positive rake angle of 25 degrees, a 20-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. The E08 chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip evacuation at the cutting zone. Thickness runs 0.1874 inches nominal, inscribed circle diameter is 0.5 inches, and the screw-mount hole is 0.1772 inches in diameter. Installation is neutral-hand, making it compatible in both right- and left-hand toolholder orientations.
This insert is intended for milling applications on non-ferrous metals as its primary workpiece material, with superalloys and titanium as the secondary workpiece material category. The positive rake and uncoated micrograin substrate minimize built-up edge on gummy or abrasive non-ferrous alloys and reduce heat generation when cutting titanium-group materials. Indexing and insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle locked out and at rest. Use the correct Torx or hex key driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw to avoid cross-threading the insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for chips or damage before seating a new insert. Ensure the insert seats fully and flush against all pocket walls before resuming cutting operations.
