The SECO 02426065 is a round carbide turning insert in the RCMT series, designed for precision turning, facing, and profiling operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert carries a CP500 manufacturer grade with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting applications. The 1/2 inch inscribed circle (0.5000 inches) with a 1/4 inch corner radius (0.2500 inches) and sharp cutting edge style makes it suited for consistent material removal. Four cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation provide flexibility across multiple setups. Installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is primarily intended for cutting stainless steel (ISO material group M) and is also rated for steel, cast iron, and super-alloys including titanium (ISO groups P, K, and S). The F1 chip breaker geometry supports positive rake cutting, which reduces cutting forces and is particularly effective in profiling and facing passes. It fits standard RCMT-style toolholders that accept screw-type insert holding. The insert meets both ANSI and ISO standards and carries ISO code RCMT120400-F1, with an industry standard number of RCMT43-F1.

This insert is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert, and verify correct insert orientation before resuming cuts.
