The SECO 02426063 is a solid carbide round turning insert in the RCMT series, designed for high-performance metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. This insert carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN coating applied via PVD process under the CP500 manufacturer grade, targeting stainless steel as the primary workpiece material. The round insert shape provides a full-radius cutting edge with 4 usable cutting edges per insert. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.3748 inches decimal) and insert thickness is 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches). Screw-holding method and a 7-degree relief angle (clearance code C, tolerance code M) round out the core geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the typical installers.
This insert is suited for facing, profiling, and turning operations across a range of workpiece materials. Primary application is stainless steel (ISO material code M), with secondary suitability for steel (P), cast iron (K), and super-alloys and titanium (S). It is applicable in material grades M10, M20, and M30. The F1 chip breaker geometry and sharp cutting edge style make it effective in finishing and light to medium roughing passes. The round insert shape maximizes corner use and is well-suited for contour and profile turning where a continuous cutting arc is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for toolholders accepting RCMT-series round inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and screw-clamp holding method, conforming to ANSI and ISO RCMT standards (ISO code RCMT09T300-F1, industry standard number RCMT32.5-F1).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not over-torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
