It follows the CNGA432 ANSI insert code and CNGA120408 ISO insert code, featuring an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a flat-top chip breaker geometry. The insert is uncoated and multi-tipped with two cutting edges. A 0.5 inch inscribed circle and 0.03 inch corner radius make it suited for precision turning operations where tight tolerances and edge stability are critical. This insert is intended for boring, facing, and turning applications on cast iron (ISO material group K) and special superalloys and titanium (ISO material group S). The PCBN substrate delivers high wear resistance with moderate toughness, making it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes on hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. It seats in toolholders designed for CNGA-style inserts using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
