The SECO 02422146 is an indexable chamfer angle face mill designed for precision facing operations in metalworking environments. Part of the R220.53 series, it accepts seven SE X 1204 inserts secured by screws and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.236 inches. The cutter runs right-hand direction with a negative radial and positive axial rake geometry, a combination that supports controlled chip formation and stable cutting forces. With through-coolant capability and a maximum spindle speed of 10,500 RPM, this mill is suited for production floor use on CNC machining centers. It is installed and set up by machinists and tooling technicians in general machining, mold, and die applications.
This face mill is built for flat surface facing and chamfering work on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 45-degree chamfer angle and normal pitch configuration make it a practical choice for roughing and semi-finishing passes on horizontal and vertical machining centers. The 1-1/2 inch arbor hole with a 0.63 inch keyway width fits standard arbor toolholding setups common in production machining. The cutting diameter range spans from 3.94 inches minimum to a maximum body diameter of 4.41 inches, providing flexibility for varying cut widths within a single tool setup.
Designed for use with SE X 1204 inserts and fits standard 1-1/2 inch arbor toolholding systems with a 16 mm keyway. Intended for use on CNC machining centers configured for facing operations within the R220.53 series tooling platform.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians on CNC machining centers. De-energize and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the cutter body. Verify arbor fit, keyway alignment, and insert seating before initiating a cutting cycle. Do not exceed the rated maximum RPM of 10,500, and confirm through-coolant passages are clear and properly connected before operation.
