The SECO 02422141 is a 45-degree chamfer angle indexable face mill designed for facing operations on CNC machining centers and milling machines. Built around the R220.53 series cutter body, it accepts five SE X 43 inserts held by screws and runs a right-hand cut with a negative radial and positive axial rake geometry. The cutting diameter range spans 1.97 inches minimum to 2.44 inches maximum, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.236 inches. Through-coolant delivery is built into the body, supporting extended tool life and chip evacuation in demanding production environments. Machinists and tooling specialists working in steel, cast iron, and similar materials will find this cutter suited to close-pitch, high-feed facing applications.
The 02422141 is used in face milling applications on vertical and horizontal machining centers where a close-pitch, multi-insert cutter is required for flat surface generation. The 3/4-inch arbor hole and 8.20 mm keyway width allow direct mounting to standard milling arbors. With five flutes and through-coolant capability, it fits production shop environments where cycle time and surface finish on workpiece faces are priorities. The overall height of 1.57 inches and hub diameter of 1.85 inches keep the cutter compact for tight-clearance setups.
Designed for use with SE X 43 series indexable inserts. Mounts to standard 3/4-inch arbors with an 8.20 mm keyway. Part of the SECO R220.53 cutter series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Verify arbor fitment and keyway alignment before seating the cutter, and torque insert screws to the insert manufacturer specification using a calibrated torque key. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and matched to the machine spindle coolant port before beginning the cut. Follow applicable shop safety standards and the machine tool builder guidelines for maximum spindle speed at the cutter diameter in use.
