The SECO 02421533 is an XOMX060208R-M05 solid carbide milling insert in the F30M manufacturer grade, designed for high-performance metal cutting in milling applications. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle and a positive rake geometry at 20.2 degrees, reducing cutting forces and heat generation. A dual-layer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. With two cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, it is suited for demanding production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC tool technicians are the primary installers and end users of this insert.
This insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material application and is specifically optimized for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, and H. It fits into screw-held insert pockets and is compatible with the R217.69-06 cutter series. The M05 chip breaker geometry supports a wide range of cutting depths up to 0.2165 inches, making it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on CNC machining centers in job shop, production, and maintenance-repair environments.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool assembly is secured in a vise or toolholder fixture before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and the screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
