The SECO 02411053 is a solid carbide turning insert in the LCE series, designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a micrograin carbide substrate, delivering thermal stability and edge retention across a broad range of workpiece materials. It measures 0.421 inches in length with a 0.008-inch corner radius and is configured for right-hand cutting. Grade CP500 positions this insert as a universal-application tool suitable for diverse production turning environments. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is engineered for universal material-group compatibility, covering workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. That range includes hardened materials, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, carbon steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Typical applications include finish and semi-finish turning on production lathes where consistent edge life and coating durability are required. The screw-holding method suits standard LCE-series toolholders. This insert is appropriate for both high-volume production and job-shop turning operations.
Designed for use in LCE-series screw-clamp toolholders. ISO code LCEX110502-0250R-L47. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards for LCEX-style inserts.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver for the clamping screw to avoid over-torquing the insert seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
