The SECO 02411046 is a solid carbide turning insert in the LCEX series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ISO designation LCE110502-0150R and is coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life on difficult-to-machine materials. The insert features a positive rake angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a right-hand cutting orientation. With a corner radius of 0.008 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1024 inches, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. Installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also rated for use on steel (P), cast iron (K), and super-alloys and titanium (S). It fits into LCEX-series toolholders that accept screw-clamped, positive-rake inserts. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and light profiling passes on lathes running stainless and alloy steel workpieces in both small-batch and high-volume production settings. The single cutting edge and common chip breaker geometry support consistent chip evacuation across the rated material grades M10, M20, and M30.
Designed for use in LCEX-series screw-clamped toolholders accepting positive-rake turning inserts with an inscribed circle of 0.4331 inches and insert thickness of 0.1575 inches, conforming to ANSI and ISO LCEX insert standards.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw for LCEX toolholders to ensure proper seating without over-torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert, and verify the cutting edge orientation matches the programmed toolpath direction before resuming operation.
