The SECO 02213644 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOEX120404FR-E06, designed for high-performance milling of non-ferrous metals. This single-sided, right-hand insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake angle of 27.4 degrees and a sharp cutting edge style, making it well suited for clean, low-force cuts in aluminum, copper, and similar materials. The H15 micrograin carbide grade is supplied bright and uncoated, which is the preferred condition for non-ferrous milling where coatings can cause built-up edge. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists select this insert for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge sharpness and dimensional consistency are critical.
This insert is intended for use in milling applications on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. It is designed for mounting via screw-clamp in compatible SECO cutter bodies from the R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 series. The E06 chip breaker geometry supports smooth chip evacuation at moderate to high feed rates typical of aluminum milling. The 90-degree included angle and two cutting edges make this a practical choice for shoulder milling and face milling passes requiring consistent surface finish.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12. Insert size code 120404 corresponds to the XOEX-12 series. Always confirm cutter body pocket geometry and insert seat specifications before installation.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Disengage spindle power and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer torque specification listed in the cutter body documentation — do not overtighten the clamp screw, as micrograin carbide is brittle and susceptible to seating damage. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
